April 2022
- video links added to YouTube performances by Neal Corwell of some of his compositions and arrangements.

Ok…I’ve been neglecting this page…What’s actually most new on this site are the information pages for
my music. However, below you can see a few things that have happened over the last few years that may interest you regarding price reductions, new pieces, and so forth.

January 2020 - 3 for 2 deals!
“3 for the price of 2” deals are now offered not only for pieces with CD but also for other pieces of like-value. In other words, you can buy three pieces with piano accompaniment, which sell for $15 each, for $30 instead of $45. Likewise, you can purchase three solos with band or orchestra accompaniment, priced at $55 each, for $110 instead of $165. And of course, still in effect, the most popular deal which is 3 pieces with CD accompaniment (or live electronics) for just $40. The lowest bottom-line priced of these deals would be 3 unaccompanied solos or etudes, $10 separately, which would sell for only $20. Oh, and CDs as well. They sell for $12 a piece, but you can have all three of my available solo CDs (Distant Images, Heart of a Wolf, Out Sitting in his Field), or three copies of one of them, for just $24.

….as of today, Nov 20, 2017…my

As of January, 2015, customers can now pay using PayPal!!! so…Payment with credit/debit card is now an option, in the sense that PayPal accounts are typically linked to a credit/debit card. At the start of the New Year 2017, I finally was able to take some time away from music projects to figure out the quite practical matter of how people can make purchases using their PayPal accounts. This addition is long overdue, and I apologize that it has taken me so long! Please see the “To Purchase” instructions (under music listings, and on every descriptive page for music and CDs) for more information.

RECENTLY ADDED WORKS:

Veteran’s Day 2018: arrangements of some popular pieces with brass quintet were premiered by Neal and also made available. Two solos, Endearing Young Charms and Capuzzi’s Andante and Rondo, are both available with brass quintet accompaniment accompaniment, and and arrangement for brass sextet (brass quintet plus euphonium) of the Scherzo from Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 are now available.

December 2017: a whole slew of new Holiday Music added. Please check out on this page:
Christmas Music

On November 11, Veteran’s Day, 2016, Edward Romine will be premiering Dr. Corwell’s most recent composition,
Song for a New Day, for euphonium solo with piano. After the premiere, the piece will be available for purchase.

Several new arrangements have recently been completed, premiered, and made available for purchase. The most recent additions are
Ebben, Dance of the Tumblers, a Christmas Concerto, the Andante from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, the US National Anthem, Paganini’s Caprice No. 5, Clarke’s Carnival of Venice, Neal Corwell’s Adagio & Finale from Sinfonietta arranged for euphonium with marimba and piano, and the humorous Hey, Wait a Minute Waltz. Also added to this site, under “music listings” are some new categories to include “Encores” and a “Young Artist” list.

Come to the Edge, for solo euphonium with piano or orchestra, premiered January 2015, and is available for purchase with full orchestra, concert band, brass band, or piano accompaniment.

Other recently added pieces are piano-accompanied versions of Dr. Corwell’s arrangements of the guitar masterwork
Asturias by Albeniz, Mantia’s euphonium showpiece, Fantasia Originale, and Nutcracker Sweets, an arrangement of five movements from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. Also new are versions of Quiet Mountain that now involve flute or clarinet in addition to trombone or tuba. Also new are a few arrangements with piano accompaniment: Away, I’m Bound Away, and March of the Marionette.

The Waste Land”, a new band piece, is ready for debut: Composition Projects have been high on Dr. Corwell’s priority list recently. In addition to finalizing master versions of several pieces in preparation for publication, and working on piano reductions of several works, he recently completed the score for a composition for symphonic wind ensemble. It is titled “The Waste Land”, and is an adaptation of his composition of the same name written for Stacey Baker in 1999 as a tuba solo with 4-part tuba-euphonium ensemble accompaniment. The inspiration for the music was the following line taken from the T.S. Eliot poem, The Wasteland: “The Wind Crosses the Brown Land, Unheard”. It is an exciting and challenging work which will hopefully be performed soon by several university wind ensembles across the nation.

As of January 2012, many pieces (over 30) that were previously published by Tuba-Euphonium Press have been withdrawn by Dr. Corwell from that organization. They are now all available from Nicolai Music. Check “
music listings” to find them. Several of Dr. Corwell’s arrangements that had been available from Kendor Music since the 1980s have recently gone out of print permanently. Those works will soon be available from Nicolai Music also.

A new piece for euphonium solo with band,
Ruslan and Ludmilla’s Romp Across Russia, was recently completed and premiered by Neal. It is a humorous and rambunctious presentation of several Russian orchestral favorites and includes famous themes by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Glinka, and Rimsky-Korsakov.

LULLABYE, a new solo that is easy to play and designed to be performed by a variety of solo instruments, has recently been made available via Nicolai Music. This solo with piano accompaniment is accessible to players of many ability levels, and a wonderful new addition to the repertoire for euphonium, tuba and twelve other instruments! (flute, oboe, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, bassoon, cello, tenor trombone, bass trombone, French horn, trumpet, and flugelhorn). To read more about the piece, and view a music sample, click here.

Also, Neal has begun adding music score samples of highlights of several pieces. A long way to go in this regard, but progress is being made.
